The Japanese American National Museum is a cultural museum located in Los Angeles dedicated to promoting understanding and appreciation of America’s ethnic and cultural diversity by sharing the Japanese American experience. This redesign of their branding updates their current logo, branding, floor plan, brochure, website, and promotional material. The new branding pulls inspiration from Japanese culture and references Japanese art movements and designers. People of Japanese American descent were interviewed to ensure the colors and design fit accurately into the perception of the culture. Overall, the redesign creates a contemporary take on Japanese American culture in order to encourage people to go to the museum and learn. *Student Project. I do not own the hapa.me imagery from promotional designs.
